World first vertical forest in Milan

As a Milan resident I have to talk about this amazing project : the 2 garden towers Residence.

This project managed and designed by Stefano Boeri, Gianandrea Barreca and Giovanni La Varra has won the International Highrise Award in 2014 as the most beautiful skyscraper in the world.

Not only a beautiful design project, these towers were also build to respect the environment and make the air cleaner acting like a natural wall from the dust - around 900 different type of trees.

Come residente milanese dovevo parlare di questo fantastico progetto di residenze : il bosco verticale.

Questo progetto gestito e creato da Stefano Boeri, Gianandrea Barreca e Giovanni La Varra ha vinto il premio International Highrise Award nel 2014 come grattacielo più bello del mondo.

Oltre ad essere un bellissimo progetto design, queste torri sono una risposta efficace al rispetto dell'ambiente e permette anche di filtrate lo smog creando un muro naturale di alberi - circa 900 specie arboree diverse.
I really think that architecture and design must deal with the environment issues, and that they have to innovate more and more to be able to create masterpieces that really respect our planet and every single piece of nature on Earth.

These towers were build in the city center of Milan, in the Porta Nuova neighborhood, and all I can say is that they've brought fresh air and green power in this city known as being industrial and smoggy.

Sono proprio convinto che l'architettura e il design debbano trovare soluzioni per l'ambiente, e che hanno il dovere d'innovazione permanente per poter creare opere che rispettano veramente l'ambiente e ogni singolo pezzo di natura su questo nostra pianeta.

Queste torri sono state costruite nel centro di Milano, nel quartiere di Porta Nuova, e quello che posso dire è che hanno portato freschezza, aria e natura in questa città conosciuta anche per il suo lato industriale piena di smog.

Every time I see these projects, I am very proud to live in this amazing city that is being totally transformed for the inauguration of the Universal Expo in 2015 : MILANO EXPO 2015 - Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.

Ogni volta che vedo questi progetti, mi sento orgoglioso di vivere in una città fantastica che si trasforma totalmente per l'inaugurazione dell'EXPO 2015 : Nutrire il Pianeta, Energia per la Vita.
